Crafting injuries

You might think that I'm joking, but I'm not. Crafting is dangerous business!

As my 200th post over here at HipsterCurious, I will share proof with you that the above statement is true.

Behold, the scissor blister:

See, wasn't kidding. Also, I might have poked myself with an exacto knife yesterday. That was an accident, this blister on the other hand developed over several hours of cutting paper.

  1. Sometimes I sit at the kitchen table, cutting some paper while listening to some classical radio on my ipod. Suddenly the music stops and I realize I've cut through the wire for the headset. Again. So it's not even limited to bodily injuries. And once, after making about 200 paper cranes, I had some bad pains in my thumb from smoothing the edges of the paper with my fingernail, about 2000 times.

    1. I'm extremely happy to know I am not the only one suffering from crafting related injuries. I can't say I've ever cut the wire from a headset, but I don't use a headset while crafting. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I would've. I understand the weird thumb/hand pain though. Been there, done that!
