It was again a great week for mail. This is definitely a proof of the old saying about mail, "send a letter to receive a letter". I'm still working on my side of the bargain. I have been busy with the shop and haven't still fully caught up with the outgoing. There are a lot of things I've been working on that I'm just dying to tell you guys about, but I've made a decision to wait until after Halloween to start talking about Christmas... I think that's fair, no?
Anyhow, onwards to mail...
Outgoing
Let's start with the little packages going to Caddi and Bree. They won small surprise packages from the giveaway I organized a little while ago. I'm hoping they'll have them soon, but figured I could show the front of the envelopes without ruining the surprise inside... I wanted to make sure that as fellow snailmailers they'll get a good selection of Canadian stamps. So, naturally I went overboard again instead of using the two I could've gotten away with... Obviously 6 is better than 2 (at least when it comes to stamps), right?
I also sent more Halloween mail, you've seen them already. I figured I'll share these still, since I love the stamps so much. One of these is going to my Lovely letters partner Autumn. I used the same idea of the bat to send the second task to her.
I also sent quite a bunch of orders out, but you've seen the format for those already. I'll come up with something new soon, I hope, and will share them again.
Incoming
It was such a good week again! I got two pieces of mail from two people. (I mean from two people, two each. So, four altogether)
First to pieces came from Susanne. You know they'll be good. I got some candy, a lovely letter and a Halloween card. She made a comment earlier on twitter (you can follow me @HipsterCurious if you want, I'm fairly active over there too) about how similar our Halloween mail is. Obviously great minds work alike!
Take a look at that pumpkin stamp too! How awesome is that? Apparently Halloween is bigger in Finland than I knew. It has to be if there's a stamp for it. I mean, a stamp makes it official, right?
The second set came from Jess. She's the first person who's penpal ad I've answered. I found her on Julie's Penpal of the week and after engaging in some very random discussion about carrots, I realized I at least owe her a letter. She just replied and I got, not just a letter but, a postcard too. And they came on the same day.
I wonder what happened to the address label though... See? It's missing parts of it. Maybe it was attacked by a ferocious possum.
Yeah... That must be it.
So, did you get anything good in the mail last week?
When I saw the first picture and read Brees name on it I went all "Ooooh, Bree is so lucky!" just to realize that the other one is coming my way! :) I'm really looking forward to it! So even though my last week was rather slow when it comes to mail (I still loved the two postcards I got from family and the letter from a penpal), I already know that the next week will be great :)
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Oh, and did Mariam ever show up? Well, if not you already have everything together in case you ever decide on another giveaway :)
Oh, and the stamps are great!
DeleteAnother update - I received your little package today!!! Thank you so much, everything was AMAZING and I love it! Thanks! I'm still so very excited I can't express myself properly in English (well, I'm not sure about how I would express myself in German right now...), so you'll have to believe me that you absolutely made me and my mailbox very happy!
DeleteOkay, and the last update for the stamps - they were not cancelled. Strange, right?
DeleteHi Caddi!
DeleteI'm so happy the package got there and that you liked it! Totally makes my day! Odd about the stamps, but maybe everyone else thought they were too awesome as well!
Oh I see the mystery packages! Hope to get a sneak peek inside as soon as I can manage! I'm staying away from home. :( Uni life is so crazy and my schedule is just too hectic! Hope I can get back home before Christmas! Awesome stamps by the way! Have a lovely day! :D
ReplyDeleteWell, I hope you'll like it whenever you get to see it!
DeleteYeah, the Finnish have not made Halloween stamps, not by far. It was more of a lucky coincidence that I happened to find a pumpkin in some vegetable themed stamps: https://verkkokauppa.posti.fi/tuotekuvat/merkit_iso/vihannekset_lisakuva.jpg
ReplyDeleteSo still very much a home-engineered Halloween card. But I put the witch-hat on it, and you'd almost think it was meant for Halloween!
Oh, fair enough. You could've fooled me. But at least this proves that I was still right about the Halloween-levels of Finland.
DeleteAs a random comment, I have to say Finland has pretty awesome stamps.
Oh no! I loved that label. Ah well, I'll have to be much stickier next time. ;)
ReplyDeleteWrite when you can/if you want! I loved your letter and I love that you're starting Christmas Projects. I've just finished decorating last night!
I'm glad you came by here, I want you to know I absolutely loved your letter! I'm definitely writing back, I'm just sorry it's taken me a while!
DeleteI think us Christmas-geeks need to stick together!
I'm excited! Don't worry about a time-frame for me. I'm not picky. Tell me all about your Christmas projects!
DeleteWe do need to stick together. There are so few of us, it seems. That is, until I get on the internet ;)
I already have a number of things to write about. And be careful what you wish for! I've been making Christmas things for the shop for weeks already, so I'm in full-on holiday mode!
