Check-up time

I took the cats to the vet yesterday, it was time to get their yearly check-up dome and vaccines up to date. Let me tell you, they were not happy.

George, obviously the clever one of the two, hid from the vet in this ingenious spot. Certainly if he can't see the vet, the vet can't see him, which then leads him to escape getting his shots and whatever other unpleasant things the vet would have in store for him...

George's feelings are hurt
Everything went well, with only a fair amount of hissing (from the cats, I was good), and we got back home in a reasonable time. Obviously I did have to deal with some hurt feelings and accusatory looks...

I am trying to be funny, but in all honesty, the vet is amazing! If you live in Montreal and are looking for a vet for your cat, you need to go to Clinique Vétérinaire Féline. They specialize and only treat cats and the entire staff is phenomenal. They are so nice and they all absolutely love cats. You know you're pet is in good hands there. I just can't express how amazing these ladies are! If you are looking for a vet, give them a call and ask for Dr. Farley. I'm not sure if Dr. Trudel is still there, but she's lovely as well. You can't go wrong here.

Tell them George and Gossamer sent you!

Mystery solved!

Admittedly, I have quite a few rolls of washi tape, all which I use very frequently. Recently, I was convinced I was missing a few. I kept looking, but in the end just decided I must've just used them.

Where my missing washi tape goes...
Until today!

Well played, cat! Well played!

A trek through the snow

So, I ended up walking around yesterday. However, as it so happened, the storybook snowfall had turned a bit wet, so even though it looked pretty good still, I had to cross small rivers of melting snow to get to my destinations. It was still pretty and I did snap a few photos to show you guys.

Snow in Montreal
I still love the little alleyways that litter this neighborhood.

I managed to pick up quite a few things we needed for the holidays, so it was definitely an effective day. Since I now have the time after finishing the craft shows, it's time for me to start the clean up for the holidays. We're hosting a few parties for the holidays, so I might as well get a head start.

George the cat taking a nap
In the spirit of winter and cozying up, I felt I should share George's new favorite spot. I have exactly one 100% wool scarf and naturally that's where he'll choose to nap...

How are you guys doing? Ready for the holidays?

Stiff neck and Christmas paper

I have some sort of a neck injury going on over here, please forgive me for being a bit short today with the blog. Sitting in front of the computer is not helping and if I need to look to the side, I need to turn my entire body. I probably look like a weirdo, but i feel oddly regal. Just try it out. Keep your back completely straight and if you need to turn, do it with your full body. Fun, no?

Christmas Gossamer

I'm working on Christmas projects like I have for a while. As you can see, Gossamer was helping out the other day. I promise I actually have some fun ideas to share with you guys soon.

Vintage paper ornament

Currently I'm making some more stock for the shop and getting even more carried away with all this holiday cheer!

How are you doing today?

Crazy colors and even crazier cats

The second Chris leaves on a business trip, that's when the major (crafts) projects come out. Right now the entire dining room table is covered in paper scraps. I have torn apart some magazines and kept the pictures that inspire me by topic, arrangements or sometimes just by their colors. As you can see, the snippets are in rough piles by colors and I started working on the pink and retro blue ones.

A start of a collages
I'm trying out a few different things with these papers. I'm working on some collages (still) as well as working on some color combinations. I find this is the easiest with magazine clippings. Since the 'what to do with old magazines' post is super popular, I'm thinking about doing a follow up with some newer projects.

Stalking cats

Besides all the color coordinated paper, the cats are bonkers. They are stalking each other and running around like crazy. Until they just flop over where they stand and go blissfully to sleep, like nothing ever happened. Sounds like a pretty awesome life. George is still not at 100% health, but if he has the energy to go nuts, then he's doing much, much better.

So, how's your day going?

P.S. Oh, look what I found yesterday!

Ready for Halloween

Pumpkin carving kit! I insist carving one every year. Do you carve pumpkins?

The patient is back

And he's still a little pathetic right now.

George the cat

So, George had to spend some time at the vet's for a few days. I don't want to get into too much detail, so it'll suffice to say he just wasn't feeling well. (If you have a cat, you might have an idea what that means, if you don't, then you don't need to know. Trust me, it's better that way)

Anyhow, we got him back home last night and are monitoring him. He got quite dramatic at the vet's and refused to eat. I got him to eat a bit yesterday, so hopefully he's getting better. He's on medication, so hopefully that'll help soon too. (Oh, have you tried to give a pill to a cat? Fun, isn't it?)

Now that this crisis has been averted, I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with my neck. It still hurts, but at least I have some movement back.

I have funner ("funner" - totally a word) topics planned, like more about Star Wars!

How has your weekend started?

Mailing assistant

Yes folks, it's true! I'm sending so much mail that I now have an assistant.

He's the suspicious type.

He's pretty sneaky too. First he checks if anyone is paying attention to him...

...and the second you're not, he'll jump on the table.

I think he's keeping an eye on a fly that got in from the open balcony door just now.

What is this?

I made a decision a long time ago not to write too much about the cats. Or post too many photos. I think they are pretty awesome (the cats, I mean) but this is not a cat-blog. I think I've done pretty well, they do appear here every now and then, but not too often. So, after saying this, I feel like I can show a few photos.

I got them a new toy, a fabric tube with some toys attached.

They seemed a bit confused at first...

...but did get a hang of it after a while.
